Apple Picking and Juicing Day at Ashfield Market Garden, Stourbridge

Date: Saturday 19th October,  from11am

Where: Ashfield Camphill Market Garden, Sugar Loaf Lane, Iverley, Near Stourbridge, DY10 3PB.

Come and help pick from their heavily laden trees, and turn the fruit into delicious fresh juice – bring bottles to take some home in!  If you have spare apples, feel free to bring them along too, to be juiced.

Date:  Saturday 5th October from 10.30am
Where:  Hay Farm, Six Ashes Road, Six Ashes, WV15 6EJ.

Come and help pick from three large and heavily laden trees, and turn the fruit into delicious fresh juice – bring bottles to take some home in! ‘Bring and Share’ lunch – we plan to get the wood-fired pizza oven going, so pizza toppings will be useful too – we will provide the dough.

All welcome! Bring aprons and chopping boards!

Apple Juicing Day in Stourbridge

Time: From 10.30 till around 3 pm
(or longer depending on quantities /weather etc)

Where: 27 Beale Street, Stourbridge

We will be pressing apples with an apple press from Ashfield Farm as well as an interesting DIY one from Anne.

  • Please bring “bring and share” lunch items
  • Children welcome
  • Bring any apples if you have spares although we are planning to glean some from our harvest share
  • Bring glass and plastic bottles, funnels , chopping boards and knives
  • Don’t wear your best clothes as things tend to get a bit sticky

  • Help making jams, chutneys, jellies, cordials?

Transition Stourbridge (a local environmental group) started the Harvest Share project in 2010 to help save good local food from going to waste.

We made jams, chutneys, jellies, cordials and over 1,000 litres of fresh pressed apple and pear juice in 2011, which was a good year – as this year is promising to be!
