Free 1-2-1 Home Energy Check

Are you concerned about the Environment? Would you like to reduce household bills and your carbon footprint?

Worldwide, individuals, organisations and governments are trying to reduce carbon emissions for a fairer future for all. It’s not easy to know what to do on a personal level, so, here is one way of finding out about many things we can all do to reduce our energy use and carbon emissions.

Stourbridge Low Carbon Community project is run by a committed team of volunteers, fully trained by Marches Energy Agency (www.mea.org.uk), to assist local people to reduce their household energy bills and thus their carbon footprints.

As part of this project, we are offering free Household Energy Checks. These take around an hour to complete.

The Home Energy Check will enable you to:

·       calculate your carbon footprint
·       learn about effective ways of reducing energy consumption
·       assess your house potential for renewable technology

If you are interested in having a Home Energy Check carried out, please send us an email via the ‘contact’ section of the website.

Low Carbon Community Project – Volunteers Wanted!

Flower inside bulbExciting Opportunity!

Transition Stourbridge is launching its Low Carbon Community Project. We are running this in partnership with Dudley’s Climate Change Group and Marches Energy Agency (leading sustainable energy advisors).

Through this project, which runs to the end of this year, we will be showing householders affordable and practical ways of reducing their heating and fuel costs, and at the same time their CO2 emissions – which means a cleaner world for all.

The advice offered is real and practical, and will help local people save money and reduce their impact on the environment

Volunteers Wanted!

So what is the Low Carbon Communities project?

Here is a short video by Marches Energy Agency who are working with us to implement the Low Carbon Communities project in and around Stourbridge. It shows the work that they have already completed with some communities in Shropshire and explains what the project is about. Continue reading “So what is the Low Carbon Communities project?”

Low carbon journey begins…

After a successful evening with Simon Ross of Marches Energy Agency – Transition Stourbridge is starting on its Low Carbon Community journey.

We will start by understanding our own energy consumption and how we can reduce it, before we move on to
supporting others in the Stourbridge area who would like to do the same.

Simon will run a 2 hour workshop on Energy Assessment for us during July as an initial step in the right direction.
